Student lead solutions…

So as we discuss 2.0 opportunities, will it be students who will build the tools educators think they want to have for to keep students safe?

A college student from the state of Washington mentioned an initiative he was working on for students (i.e. the profession or being a job of being a student.) What is Scriptovia! is an online community for students to collaborate and receive feedback on their academic work. This includes essays, notes, lab reports, presentations, and everything else students create to advance their knowledge.

Very interesting and needs further exploration. Thi may be the next GenYes.

New Tools, New Schools: Starting the Conversation about Web 2.0

Lynne Schrum mentioned that Teacher educators were looking for action research practioners in schools that looks at technology’s ability to enhance curriculum (learn better and deeper) as well as extend learning (by time, place, pace, repetition, intelligent alternate paths for remediation). I enjoyed the way she noted that it was a curriculum and results-outcomes issue….not one which looks to measure how much tech is being used. I am not sure I have articulated the idea and the difference well. (ideas/stories and experiences within the 2.0 environments as how one would define it.)  ISTE is the publisher.
